- where you study and whether you like or don't like your school and why
- favorite subject and why
- subject you like the least and why
- favorite food and why and least favorite food and why
- one sport or hobby you practice and why you practice it
- At what time you get up in the morning during the weekdays and at what time you get up in the weekends
- one thing you did during your vacation (use past tense)
- what you are doing now (use present continuous)
- one thing you are going to do after you finish writing this paragraph (use immediate future)
- what is the current time now
- say that you have to go (expression that shows obligation) now because you are late
- invite your reader to write about himself
- say good bye

1) Brain storming in groups: Please get together in two groups. Then brainstorm about different sports, hobbies, and other activities that you do during your free time in your country. When you discuss these activities within your groups, also mention when, where, why, and with whom you do them. Also mention your favorite, sport and non-sport hobby and your least favorite sport and non-sport hobby and explain why you feel that way about them.
2) Power Point individual task: Do a short Power Point presentation with the following:
a) Top three sports practiced in your country (you need an image for each sport, the name, why they are famous, and how you feel about each.)
b) Top two sports you like to practice (you need an image for each, the name, and when, where, and why you like to practice each.)
c) Number one non-sport hobby that you do. (you need an image, the name, and when, where, and why you like to do this hobby. Also, mention when, where, and why you practice each.)
d) One sport and one non-sport hobby that you don't like. (You need an image for each, the name, and why you don't like to practice or do this sport or hobby.)
Once you are done, you will present to the class.

As you can tell, you need to use verbs in the past tense. This essay should be 5 paragraphs long. You need an introduction, a body of 3 paragraphs (one paragraph for each sport, activity, or hobby), and a closing paragraph. Remember to use appropriate vocabulary, grammar, spelling and connecting words.

c) Slide 51 In this slide you will get a chance to interview some class members and ask them about:

d) Slides 52-55 In these slides you will get a change to review the conjugation of the following verbs:

e) Slide 56 Here you and your partner will be able to read a skit about friends inviting one another to go out.
Go over the dialogue and look up any vocabulary and expressions that are new to you. Then, practice the
dialogue with your partner.
f) Slide 57 Here you and your group will have the opportunity of making a skit where friends invite each other to go out. Follow the instructions on the slide. When you finish writing your group's skit, practice it, and then you will present it to the class. Please write the skit on a Google Document so all member in the group may collaborate with each other in writing the script. Also, make sure all members in the group have equal participation in the lines they get to say in the dialogue.
g) Slides 58 - 60 In these slides you will have a chance to review the immediate future. Please take the time to review these slides and make sure you understand the structure of the immediate future and how to use it.
h) Slides 61 - 62 In slide 61 you have a text to read. This text is about what someone is doing during the weekend. In slide 62 you have a series of instructions related to slide 61. When you get to the part where you have to write the 12 questions with your partner, make sure the questions go from easy to difficult. Thus, you may have a few factual questions from the text, a few reflective questions where the text needs to be used as a reference, a few questions that relate to personal experience that are related to the topic of the text, etc.
6) **Essay** Write a 5 paragraph essay about what you are going to do during the weekend. In this essay you need to use the immediate future in Spanish to express what you are going to do. Below are the general requirements for the essay:
a) An interesting introduction paragraph. This paragraph should give the reader a clear idea of what you are going to talk about.
b) A body with 3 paragraphs. Each paragraph should talk a different activity that you are going to do during the weekend. Each paragraph needs to have an introduction sentence, supporting ideas, and a closing sentence.
c) A closing paragraph. This paragraph should allow the reader to clearly see the final and most important points that you want him or her to remember from your writing.
d) Cohesive devices. Make sure you use cohesive devices (and, or, however, furthermore, additionally, moreover, in conclusion, finally) to make your writing more fluid and coherent.

On December 8 - 11 you will have the opportunity to practice and get a feel for the REAL written research that you will turn in on the week of February 23 - 26, 2015. Thus, you need to start doing the following:

With this in mind, It is vital that we go back and review the document with all the requirements for this Written Research. So, please click on the Word document below.
