Present Perfect
We use the Present Perfect to say that an action happened at an unspecified time before now. The exact time is not important. You CANNOT use the Present Perfect with specific time expressions such as: yesterday, one year ago, last week, when I was a child, when I lived in Japan, at that moment, that day, one day, etc. We CAN use the Present Perfect with unspecific expressions such as: ever, never, once, many times, several times, before, so far, already, yet, etc
The present perfect is formed by using the following structure:
Auxiliary verb (HAS or HAVE) + Past Participle of the main verb)
1. John has + studied many times
2. She has + eaten several times
3. We have never + written the essay.
In Spanish:
1. Juan he + estudiado muchas veces.
2. Ella ha + comido varias veces.
3. Nosotros nunca hemos + escrito el ensayo.
In English the auxiliary verbs (has or have) are used. In Spanish the auxiliary verb is (Haber). Below is how the auxiliary verb (haber) is conjugated in the present.
